Please find below, helpful notes to step you through the simple DriveNow™ booking process.
(a) Choosing the type of vehicle and the location - Homepage
Here you can select a Vehicle Type and Pick Up location then click on 'SEARCH'.
(b) Rental Options & Prices - Search Results
You will then be presented with a selection of vehicles available at the Location chosen, listing the prices for the next 2 weeks. You can click on the 'SUPPLIER' logo to find out more about a Supplier. Once you are ready to proceed, click the 'VIEW' button relevant to the vehicle you would like to rent.
Remember - the price you see is the price you pay ... Drive Away ...
Prices shown on DriveNow™ include all Taxes, Duties, Airport Fees and Standard Insurance. Please note that the per hire charges are included on the booking page before you complete your booking.
(c) Offer Details
Now you will see the full details of the offer from the Rental Company. There may be more than one offer on this page, reflecting such things as minimum days rental, age requirements, Mileage, pick up and drop off locations and times. Select the vehicle you wish to rent and click 'BOOK' to finalise your booking.
(d) Booking Page
Enter your final Pick Up & Drop Off details, dates of rental, the driver details and your credit card details. Card details are either used for payment via our secure internet payment service at the time of booking, or simply to secure your booking (with payment made to the supplier on pick up). You will be notified on the booking form, should you be required to make payment to the supplier.
Some suppliers enforce non-refundable booking conditions. Details are contained in our Terms & Conditions page and we require your acknowledgement that your have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions before your booking is processed.
You will receive an online confirmation of your booking, which can be printed as a receipt. You also receive a confirmation email. We immediately confirm your booking electronically with the supplier. You do NOT need to telephone to confirm your booking. Note: Where pre-payment is not made to DriveNow™ , you will receive an additional confirmation email from the supplier.
Click here to modify or cancel a booking Note - this is governed by our Terms & Conditions and amendment or cancellation fees may apply depending upon the rental company. Please note that DriveNow does not charge cancellation or amendement fees but is obliged to pass on any fees as directed by the rental vehicle supplier. Generally Car rental companies no longer charge cancellation fees.
Here are the answers to the questions we are asked most often. Should you have a question not detailed, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Are there any hidden charges in your rates?
No - as long as you meet the minimum age requirement, we have ensured that the price you see is the price you pay ... Drive Away ... Your final booking screen details all the inclusions that make up the price you pay. As well as these inclusions, we also detail any optional charges, which include:
- Insurance Excess Reduction
- Driver Age Surcharges
- Equipment requests (such as baby seats)
How old do I have to be to hire a car?
You must be at least 21 years of age, with a current and full Australian or International drivers licence, written in English to book motor vehicle rental in Australia. Probationary Licences are not accepted. Most of the prices displayed are for drivers over 25 years of age. If you are under 25 years of age, at the rental collection point you may:
(i) be asked to pay a surcharge to complete the rental agreement,
(ii) have your rental agreement denied and your booking cancelled. (refer to our cancellation policy)
Where can I pick up my vehicle?
You can collect your vehicle from the location listed where you view your selected vehicle type. If you're not sure what that is, check your confirmation e-mail for all of the details. What is your policy on matching rates?
Where do I drop off the vehicle?
Your confirmation e-mail has your entire drop off details listed under "Drop Off". This list includes place, date and time for the drop off.
Can I request additional equipment, such as Baby Seats, Ski Racks etc.?
Yes - These requests are made at the time of booking. They are not guaranteed until the Motor Vehicle supplier has confirmed this to you via email.
Do you keep my credit card information?
For pre-paid bookings, your credit card details are sent in encrypted form to the bank, and are processed by them. For non pre-paid bookings, your credit card details are used to secure your booking, payment is made to the supplier upong pick-up of your vehicle.
What kind of licence do I need?
If you're over 18 years old and the holder of a valid international drivers' licence or a current open local licence, you're eligible to drive in Australia.
What companies is DriveNow™ affiliated with?
Our suppliers include Budget, Hertz, Europcar, Thrifty, Avis, Britz, Jucy, Mighty, Kea Campers and Maui Motorhomes.
