The Kiwi Deluxe 2/3 Berth ST is one of the newest vehicles. Converted from a 2017/18 LDV V80 it is a pleaseure to drive. The living are is spacious with a generous bed that is made in the back.

Jack's take

This is a comfortable self-contained camper that balances size with features. You get a bathroom, heating, and off-grid capability in a compact package that's easy to drive and fuel-efficient. The automatic transmission and manageable size make it excellent for first-time campervan travellers.

The rooftop solar panel is the standout feature here — it's great backup for the house battery when you're free camping. You can generally spend one night off-grid at a time, though we recommend staying at powered sites every second night to keep everything topped up.

After a week on the road, it feels comfortable for two adults. The bathroom, heating, and roomy bed make long-distance travel much easier than smaller vans. You're trading some passenger and storage space for this comfort, but you get a more manageable, fuel-efficient vehicle in return.

The combination of self-contained certification, diesel heating, and solar support makes this a strong option for flexible New Zealand touring. Just keep an eye on your battery use if you're planning multiple nights without power.
