The Nomad is Road Runner Rentals' mid-range campervan — newer than their entry-level options and certified self-contained, which means you can free camp without needing a powered site every night.

The build years run 2019–2021, which puts it in a solid middle ground. Not brand new, but noticeably fresher than the older Road Runner fleet.

For two people, this is a comfortable size. Use soft luggage — it makes a real difference. You can unpack properly and keep the living area from feeling cluttered after a few days on the road. For three adults on a longer trip, it does start to feel cramped. It works best for two adults, or two adults and a child.

The trade-off worth knowing: the Nomad sits in an awkward price position. It costs more than Road Runner's older models, but it's also older than some competing campervans at a similar price point. If you're travelling as a group of three and budget is a factor, it's worth checking whether a larger vehicle from another company lands at a similar price.

First-timers do well in this vehicle. The size is manageable, and the self-contained certification gives you genuine flexibility on where you stop.
