Pick-up experience

If something goes wrong
Vehicles are maintained and serviced regularly, but breakdowns and mechanical issues still happen occasionally. If you run into any problem, even a minor one, contact Customer Care. Minor repairs under $100 can be sorted without prior authorisation — Travellers Autobarn will reimburse you when you return the van, but you need to keep your receipts. No receipt, no refund.

Budget-conscious travellers who want to keep trip costs down and don't mind a simpler, older-style campervan. If you value getting good money for your dollar and a compact van over modern features, and you're more focused on the road trip than the gadgets, this is your supplier.
Vehicle to start with
The Hi-5 is the best all-rounder — good for families or small groups, sleeping up to five (though only two double beds). It comes with a proper kitchenette, fridge, microwave and solar panel. It gives you space and comfort without pushing you into a larger motorhome.
One more thing
Booking a pick-up between May and September? Ask about the free winter pack. It includes extra sleeping bags, a heater (only works at powered campsites) and a hot water bottle. You need to book it before pick-up — it's not something you can add on later, and it's only available in those winter months. If your trip covers both islands, book your Interislander or Bluebridge ferry crossing well ahead in summer, and confirm your vehicle is cleared for ferry travel before you lock in your dates.
