Jack's take

This vehicle hits the sweet spot for families who want more space than a standard campervan but don't need a full motorhome. It seats five and sleeps up to four adults plus a child, though it works best with 2-3 adults.

The layout is genuinely family-friendly. The loft bed creates natural separation between sleeping areas, so everyone gets a bit of personal space on longer trips. The hi-top roof and clever use of space prevent the cabin from feeling cramped, even with several people travelling together.

You get proper self-catering facilities — fridge, stove, microwave, and decent storage — so you can comfortably cook for an extended trip. By day five, families usually appreciate the vehicle more if they stay on top of keeping gear organised.

The trade-off? You don't get the same space as a motorhome or proper toilet and shower facilities. While it's roomy for a campervan, larger groups still need to be mindful of shared living space during extended trips.

This works well for first-timers. The automatic transmission removes one of the biggest challenges for overseas visitors, and the layout is intuitive and easy to learn. It's certified self-contained, giving you greater flexibility when choosing where to stay around New Zealand.
